Experience with divine intervention

Happy Easter! Spring has sprung, or at least it’s trying to that is. Enjoy the little ones around you even if they are all hyped up on chocolate and candy. Each day is a gift so hug and kiss them every day.

Being that it’s the Easter weekend, I decided to skip a story of a haunting this week as well as a psychic question. I would like to share something a little lighter and much more uplifting. It is still a story that some skeptics may have a hard time believing, and therefore would like to take the opportunity to invite any such skeptics to write to me sharing what they believe may have happened instead. (Please keep in mind, there were no major injuries or head trauma suffered by the young boy in the story.)

Once again, to ensure anonymity, the following story may have names, locations and any identifying information changed for privacy. Although I assure you, the story is in fact based on what the story teller’s believe to be true accounts.

“Years ago when I was a single mother, my son and I had what I believe, was none other than an experience with divine intervention. I know in my heart this could be the only explanation. I had never really been religious, but I did have faith in some sort of higher power. Since this experience my faith is unwavering.

One day while I was driving from Southern Ontario back to where I lived in Northern Ontario with my 6 year old son in the backseat, we had a terrible accident. It was in the evening and beginning to get dark. I had a lot of experience on this highway so I felt very comfortable behind the wheel listening to some music while my son was fast asleep.

Everything happened so quickly. I saw something which I assumed was a deer, run out in front of the car forcing me to hit the brakes and swerve hard to the left. I remember hearing the tires squealing and a lot of crunching and metal grinding type of noises. Then everything went dark.

When I woke up, I was groggy and was trying to make sense out of what had just happened and finally realized we had been in an accident. Thankfully we were wearing our seatbelts because later I found out the car had flipped over and then flipped upright again.

Frantically, I began calling for my son who I could hear crying from the back seat. I knew I had scratches and probably would end up with some bruises but I didn’t think I had anything major wrong, so I unhooked my seatbelt and tried to reach for my boy. I repeatedly told him it was okay and to stay where he was for fear of any movement causing more serious injuries. He slowly began to quieten down and by the time help arrived he was no longer crying. We were rushed to the hospital and miraculously, we were both unscathed other than a few bumps and bruises.

After we were home and settled, I had a family friend come to visit. We sat on the couch talking while my son laid on the floor watching TV. I was telling her in full description about the accident when my 6 year old son interrupted me and said, “No mom, that’s not what happened! Remember the lady?”

I had no idea what he was talking about and tried to shush him so I could continue relaying my story to my friend. He was adamant though and again said with more determination, “NO, the lady who helped us!”

My friend and I stopped, waiting for him to explain what he was talking about as he continued on.

“Don’t you remember the lady in the white dress told us to close our eyes? She was real nice and said it would be over soon and it would be okay.” Then he added, “When the car stopped moving she said “See, I told you it would be ok!” and then she was gone. I guess maybe that’s when you were asleep and that’s why you can’t remember.”

I have no explanation as to who this ‘lady’ was, but I am sure in my heart she must have been an angel or something of the sort and this is the explanation I gave to my son. From that day on, I taught my son how to pray every night before bed expressing gratitude for the protection we were giving that day and to ask for continued love and support. – Kelly-Anne
