We have all had some sort of paranormal experience whether we would like to admit it or not. Was that simply a shadow or was it something more? Was that your name being called or were you hallucinating? Why did your entire body suddenly become covered with goose bumps and your hair stand on end for seemingly no good reason?

The unexplainable can and does have a tendency to be passed off as merely “nothing” or “imagination”.

Let’s say for a moment you weren’t imagining it but rather you actually did have a paranormal experience. Who would you talk to about it and more importantly, would they believe you? Would it affect your reputation, your job, or your relationships? Many stay quiet and deny any such unexplainable experiences because of these fears.

As the owner of and lead investigator for Haunted Sault Ste. Marie, I have had my fair share of experiences and have been entrusted with stories from many others. One such story may make your skin crawl and tempt you to leave the lights on while you are sleeping tonight. To ensure anonymity, the following story may have names, locations and any identifying information changed for privacy. Although I assure you, the story is in fact based on what they believe to be true accounts.

I live in an old house in the downtown core of Sault Ste. Marie. Sadly, my home has a somewhat tragic history. Many years ago, there was a man in his forties who lived there. He was said to be unstable mentally and was a bit of a recluse. After allegations of sexual assault and rape were made by a young girl in the neighbourhood, he ended his life. He was found in the bedroom, my bedroom, where he bled to death after slitting his wrists.

It all started one evening while in bed watching the some late night TV. Alone in the house and having no pets, the house should have been silent with no other sounds other than the sitcom I was viewing. Suddenly, there were the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs and slowly down the hall in the direction of my bedroom. I hit the ‘mute’ button on the remote and listened. Nothing. Hitting the ‘mute’ button again, the television came alive.

A few nights later, as I yet again lay in bed watching the TV, I hear the familiar sound of footsteps. This time I didn’t ‘mute’ the sound and slowly got out of bed and made my way over to the doorway. With one quick move of my body, I darted into the hallway as if to catch someone standing there. But once again, nothing. I had no explanation for what I just heard and had no choice but to go back to bed. It took longer than usual to fall asleep that night and I was sure to sleep facing the door in the case of an ambush.

A few weeks later and once again, lying in bed, though this time in the dark and waiting for the blissful peace of sleep to consume me. I had rolled over to face the wall with my back to the door, tucked in quite comfortably and ready to doze off, when suddenly the air felt thick. My heart started pounding in my chest and my breathing became shallow. It was as though I were paralyzed by fear and couldn’t turn my body around to look at the doorway.

I listened with my eyes wide open as I heard the sound of feet shuffling on the floor and then light footsteps coming toward my bed one by one. Then it happened. Someone or something tugged at the blanket from up by my neck and pulled it down past my shoulders as I felt a hot breathe on the back of my neck. I bounced out of bed pulling the blankets with me as if it would somehow protect me from this, THING! When I was finally on my feet and facing the door, I could see nothing. Nothing was there. I heard it and felt it, yet nothing could be seen. I could not explain what it was. Although the experience doesn’t seem real, for me the fear and panic I felt was definitely genuine.

This is just one person’s story. There are many, many others. If you have a story you would like to share, please submit it directly to Tammy Deans’ email, tammy@tammydeans.com. Please be sure to request anonymity if you so choose.
Ask Tammy,
Reader Question:
I am recently divorced and feeling ready to move forward after a long and stressful legal battle. Could you please tell me if I will ever find love in my life again? – Anonymous

Tammy’s Psychic Answer:
Thank you for your question. You need time to lick your wounds and refocus your life and your intentions. I do see a special someone coming into your life within the next 8-10 months, but without taking the time to heal in the meantime, you risk the possibility of pushing him away when he does appear. Now is the time for you to manifest what it is you want and need in life and you can do so by putting yourself at the top of your priority list for a change. You may benefit from the peaceful and loving vibrations of a rose quartz crystal. Carry it on your person for best results and remember to place it beside your bed at night.

If you have a question for Tammy, please feel free to email her directly at tammy@tammydeans.com Questions can be paranormal in nature, a question requiring a psychic answer, or questions regarding the vibrational power of crystals. Although Tammy will do her best to answer all questions submitted, not all may be a good candidate for publishing.
