Haunting on Bruce Hill

Thank you so much for the amazing response to my first article last week! Many stories and questions have been pouring in. Although it is wonderful to have so many trust me with their stories and to protect their privacy, I am overwhelmed with the amount of emails and messages in my inboxes. I apologize for and regret to say that due to the awe-inspiring response, not everyone will receive an answer and not all stories will be published.

Once again, to ensure anonymity, the following story may have names, locations and any identifying information changed for privacy. Although I assure you, the story is in fact based on what the story teller’s believe to be true accounts.

Today’s story was sent in by a reader and is a great example of a positive experience. This particular case could even be called ‘protective’ in nature. You decide.

A few years back I lived in a house with a roommate in a cute neighbourhood on top of the Bruce Street hill. I don’t want to say the exact address as I was only renting and I don’t think the landlord believed us. We came to believe the ‘spirit’ was a friendly and somewhat protective one.

Just after moving in, my roommate told me she heard footsteps in the hallway and thought it was me up late one night. I assured her it was not and that I had slept the whole night through. We shrugged it off as just getting used to the noises in the new house.

A couple of nights later, she told me she heard the same thing again. This time she got out of bed and went down to the main floor to look around and saw no one.

Some time went by without incident and then one gloomy afternoon while sitting in a chair on the main floor, something caught the corner of my eye. When I spun my head to look, nothing was there. I repositioned myself and settled in to reading my book once again. This happened a few other times that afternoon but I could never figure out what it was I was seeing.

I remember one particular night very clearly. While we were each in our separate bedrooms, we were alerted to knocking on the wall and sounded like it was coming from the other empty bedroom. We could smell something burning and found an electrical outlet beginning to catch fire and smoking. We had decided at that time the spirit in the house was obviously a protective one meaning us no harm.

About a year after we moved in, the spirit finally showed himself. He appeared one day in the main floor hallway as an older gentlemen. He reminded me of someone’s grandfather and then disappeared into thin air.

This is just one person’s story. If you have a story you would like to share, please submit it directly to Tammy Deans’ email, tammy@tammydeans.com. Please be sure to request anonymity if you so choose.

Ask Tammy,

Dear Tammy,

I am very concerned for my oldest granddaughter. Can you tell me if she will be ok? – Anonymous

Tammy’s Psychic Answer:

I am sorry to hear of your concern. It is hard when someone you love is struggling. Can I first begin with this? ‘No one can take your power, unless you allow it.” Keeping this in mind, I believe your granddaughter needs to remember who she is from within and reclaim her power. I feel she may have a sense of loss or an identity crisis.

It’s time to step-up to her true potential and be assertive. Celebrate her achievements in life and release those things that are no longer of use to her. She needs to think big! It is time for transformation and although this may not feel comfortable, it is a great step to take in her path!

She has a courageous spirit and at this time needs to face her responsibilities. Her love of freedom and adventure may get in the way of any short term fixed goals, but shouldn’t hold her back in the long term. I understand your worry as I too, am a mother and grandmother. It can be hard to watch. I choose to have faith in knowing everything happens for a reason, whether we like it or not.

1It may be helpful for YOU to carry the chrysocolla stone on your body. This is a stone of wise women everywhere! It helps women to express their knowledge and experience in a loving and non-judgmental way. It is great for grandmothers to help balance their caring role which differs from that of motherhood. Chrysocolla is also said to provide stability, acceptance, and great inner strength too! An all-around great stone in my opinion!
